This is a trend we have observed; most people who seek our support acknowledge that they are usually uncomfortable sharing their mental health problems with their relatives or friends, and would rather suffer alone if they cannot afford counselling sessions. Others can only afford just one or two live therapy sessions with their counsellors before dropping off, while others cannot afford even a single session or the 1-month self-therapy. It has always been our major concern how the people who cannot afford therapy cope with their situation. Previously, there was little we could do as an organization since our psychotherapists set their own rates, and they expect that all the live therapy sessions they conduct are paid.
We have decided that no one in need of mental health support should ever be turned away simply because they are unable to afford the 1-on-1 live counselling sessions or the 1-month self-therapy sessions.
To begin with, we have significantly subsidized all our 1-month self-therapy sessions for everyone from $39 to $11. The $11 charge will help us keep our opeartions running, but we hope to completely scrap it in future. Secondly, we have agreed with our counsellors that each 1-on-1 live counselling session should be capped at $50. However, our goal is to offer mental health support free of charge to everyone who cannot afford it, and this could be your close relative or friend.
To help us achieve our goal of offering mental health support to everyone who needs it but cannot afford it, we are requesting your financial support towards this initiative. Your donations towards the initiative will help us pay the counsellors who conduct 1-on-1 live sessions.
There's no minimum or maximum amount you can donate. Any amount is welcome and will help a brother or sister get the support they really need.
You can donate once or commit to monthly donations. We receive requests for support every day from people who need it so much, but cannot pay for the sessions.
